Flats in the 71 Refurbishment are being completed and let out. The scaffolding has been removed, all bathrooms have been tiled ready for their sanitary ware and the kitchen carcasses for flat 6 have been delivered, and the entrance tiled and decorated.
77 Winchester St. has been given it’s license by the local authority, not without some drama as one might expect from Westminster City Council. At one point they threatened a prohibition order because a certain couple hadn’t been sleeping together, and had been using their flat in an unauthorised manner sleeping in the living room – it beats me why tenant’s sex lives are the landlord’s responsibility, but apparently it is. Bizarre. Just as bizarre was their assessment of the likelihood of between 1 in 7.5 to 1 in 4 of serious harm to tenants in the next year as a result of entry by intruders – in the last 50 years the house only had a break-in in 1991, and no one was harmed. Thank goodness the licensing only takes place every 5 years!
