Trafalgar Square, Pimlico's Local Christmas Tree
I would like to take the opportunity that wish all our readers a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. An especial thank you to all those who have taken the time to register and leave their comments on the Blog.
A small warning which I hope will make someone’s Christmas that bit happier – watch out for the Wardens! Whilst libraries will close at 1pm on Christmas Eve and all day from December 25 to 28, re-opening as usual on December 29 and 30, Westminster’s Traffic Wardens will prowl continuously. In particular parking restrictions will apply on Boxing Day (Saturday) so don’t get caught!
Continuing the theme of doom and gloom, for many Christmas Day can be lonely, and the contrast with everyone else’s joy can be miserable, especially for those missing a loved one. London, and even the village of Pimlico, can be unfriendly – however there is always someone to talk to. Samaritans provides confidential non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide. They provide someone to talk to by telephone, email, letter or face to face at our local branch just off Carnaby Street, which is open 9am and 9pm every day including Christmas Day. There is no need for an appointment..
So have a great Christmas – wish everyone who you see “A Very Merry Christmas” with a beaming smile – even your Landlord!
