How to export an Excel Chart as a Graphic

Clever tip here – I wanted to show a chart from my Excel Spreadsheet on my Blog. Amazingly Excel 2007 won’t do this on its own! Having researched the Web I established that my choices were:

1.       Buy a piece of Proprietary Software for $69

2.       Install a purpose written VBA script to export the file

Erm – didn’t like those two options so this is what I did …….

1.       Opened Word

2.       Dragged (copied) the Chart from Excel to Word

3.       Saved the Word Document (the Chart) as a Web Page (HTML)

4.       There in a subdirectory of my Web Page is a PNG file of the Chart!

So easy!
